Oceania Cruises heeft prachtige vaarroutes waarbij de focus ligt op de kleinschalige of minder bekende havens. De rederij biedt kwaliteitsvolle ‘Premium’ cruises aan maar mag voor de uitstekende keuken zonder twijfel de stempel ‘Deluxe’ krijgen. Oceania scoort dan ook zeer hoog op het vlak van gastronomie & service en zit zonder twijfel in de top drie van favoriete cruiserederijen van onze Belgische klanten.

De specialiteitenrestaurants aan boord zijn altijd inbegrepen en met de nieuwe prijsformule 'Your World Included' geniet je op elke cruise (met vertrek op of na 01/01/2025)  van:

  • - Onbeperkt Wifi, tot 2 toestellen
  • - Fooien / servicekosten voor het personeel
  • - Alle niet-alcoholische dranken, inclusief specialiteiten koffies en thee, fruitsappen en water in de hut

Zowel de 4 kleinere als 3 grotere schepen uit de vloot hebben elk hun eigen karakter en verrassende creatieve toetsen. De verschillende restaurants zijn culinaire paradijzen voor fijnproevers, en bovendien steeds inbegrepen bij de prijs. Wat veel klanten waarderen, is de mogelijkheid om buiten te ontbijten, lunchen of dineren op het Terrace Cafe.

Tijdens de cruise verzorgt Oceania Cruises workshops in een eigen kookatelier (op Vista, Marina en Riviera). In de aanleghavens kunnen gasten samen met de chef verse ingrediënten inslaan op lokale marktjes, om daarna zelf de plaatselijke specialiteit klaar te maken.

Wie van het buitenleven houdt zit hier goed, met een groot zonnedek met extra veel persoonlijke ruimte. Sommige langere afvaarten van Oceania Cruises brengen je naar exotische bestemmingen zoals het Panamakanaal, Bora Bora of Madagascar tijdens langere cruises; maar tijdens het zomerseizoen heb je evenveel keuze uit achtdaagse routes in de Middellandse Zee.

 

Dat Oceania Cruises investeert in haar vloot, mag duidelijk zijn. De 4 kleinere schepen - voor kenners bekend als de 'Regatta-klasse' - zijn de afgelopen jaren zodanig gerenoveerd en verbouwd, dat het nu haast compleet nieuwe schepen zijn. De renovatie omvatte alle aspecten van de gastenbeleving, te beginnen met de 342 kajuiten en suites aan boord van elk schip.

Die zijn volledig gestript en opnieuw aangekleed met op maat gemaakte meubels, houten afwerkingen en designaccessoires. De tinten verwijzen naar de zee en de lucht en voelen warm en rustgevend aan. Vista werd officieel ingehuldigd op 8 mei 2023 (Valletta, Malta) en is dus het nieuwste 'vlaggenschip' van Oceania Cruises. Hoewel het schip veel gelijkenissen toont met de 2 andere middelgrote schepen uit de vloot (Marina en Riviera), is Vista tegelijk vernieuwend, fris en modern.

Vista is het eerste van twee schepen uit de nieuwe Allura-klasse (zusterschip Allura komt vanaf 2025 in de vaart).

 

De schepen van Oceania Cruises worden gebouwd voor een specifiek doelpubliek: levensgenieters die er van houden om de wereld te ontdekken op een zo comfortabel mogelijke manier. Het interieur en de inrichting aan boord van Vista laten echter meteen ook zien dat er een nieuw tijdperk is aangebroken voor de premium-rederij. Het schip werd ontworpen als 'gamechanger' voor de toekomst van Oceania Cruises. Zo zijn er o.a. enkele nieuwe culinaire concepten, lounges en publieke ruimtes aan boord.

Alle hutten, suites, lounges en publieke plekken aan boord stralen een ‘home away from home’ gevoel uit en overal aan boord is meer dan voldoende ruimte voor alle gasten. Nooit hoef je ergens aan te schuiven of te wachten. De bemanning en het management doet er alles aan om je zo goed mogelijk in de watten te leggen. Het gastronomische aspect is daarbij één van de belangrijkste troeven en Oceania mag zich dan ook terecht de cruiserederij met ‘de beste keuken op zee’ noemen. 

Elke accommodatie is ingericht met een maximum aan comfort en slim ingedeelde ruimtes met alle voorzieningen. Zelfs de meest bescheiden (binnen- en buiten-) hutten hebben een apart zitgedeelte, bureau en gekoelde minibar gevuld en steeds aangevuld met gratis frisdranken en flesjes water. De populairste categorieën echter zijn de balkonhutten (Veranda) en de Concierge Veranda hutten, waarbij je ook meteen een heleboel extra diensten en privileges krijgt. In de Penthouse Suites – en hogere suite-categorieën – word je hélemaal non-stop in de watten gelegd, door je eigen butler die 24/24 voor je paraat staat en voor wie geen enkele vraag teveel is. Je kan er zelfs de menu’s uit de specialiteitenrestaurants in je suite laten opdienen. In elke hut en suite slaap je op Tranquility beds van de beste kwaliteit. Voor je het weet is het weer ochtend, schuif je je gordijnen open, en ligt een nieuwe bestemming op je te wachten. Klaar om ontdekt te worden.

CULINAIRE VERWENNERIJ

Van een eenvoudige, gezonde lunch tot uitgebreide diners met aangepaste wijnen, de culinaire hoogtepunten zijn hier dagelijkse kost. Aan boord van Marina kan je zelfs culinaire kookworkshops volgen onder professionele begeleiding in een volledig ingericht atelier. Koken op sterren niveau dus. De vele specialiteitenrestaurants bieden een ruime keuze voor ieders smaak. Zoals de klassieke (Franse) keuken in Jacques, het Amerikaanse steakhouse Polo Grill, traditionele Italiaanse gerechten in Toscana, of verfijnde Aziatische specialiteiten in Red Ginger. Uiteraard kan je ook steeds vrijblijvend terecht in het hoofdrestaurant – met minstens even heerlijke topgerechten – of in het Terrace Café in openlucht op het achterdek. Heerlijk om te ontbijten met zicht op zee of een snelle lunch na een excursie aan land. En het leuke is, dat alles is inbegrepen in de prijs van je cruise. Met een enkele uitzondering voor wie écht iets te vieren heeft. In La Réserve kan je – tegen een toeslag – terecht voor de Dom Pérignon Expérience, een exclusief diner gepaard met bijpassende Champagnes van het gekende luxemerk. Voor de liefhebbers van topgastronomie gaat de ervaring gewoon verder aan land, met de speciaal daarvoor ontworpen ‘Culinary Discovery Tours’.
